We are now settled in our new office on Portland Place, and it has been non-stop since we moved in.

Othello:
Five directors have collaborated with our trusted designers and a brand new set of actors to open our latest production, Othello, and make this is a theatrical experience not to be missed. For more info, please click here.

We are proud to announce that our recent tour of Vincent in Brixton has now come to a successful close, never scoring less than four stars in a review. Read more here.

Journey's End casting:
We are now casting for our production of Journey's End. To find out how to apply, click here. We remind you that we DO NOT like to receive electronic submissions. Please apply via Spotlight or by post. Most roles have been filled by actors known to the director, but we are still looking for three more roles to be filled.

Othello opens!

South Hill Park Arts Centre opened our production of Othello to roaring success.

A tempestuous journey from scandal and intrigue to lust and vengeance.

How do you convince a man to murder his own wife?
In 16th century Venice, a military ensign passed over for promotion and consumed with jealously plots the overthrow of his noble general, the mighty Othello.

Directors for the production are:

Bethany Pitts: Asst Direction
Ron McAllister: Music Direction
Ben Redfern: Movement Direction
Ronin Traynor: Fight Direction
and Max Lewendel in charge of overall direction. With a lot of inspired influence from the cast, designers, and crew as well this is decidedly our most collaborative endeavour to date.

The show features a live sextet of violinists, violists, and cellists and some superb performances as these actor-musicians light up the stage.

Education Work

Icarus has created a number of key skills Masterclasses, aimed at developing gifted students with an established or potential interest in drama. Read more here.

Icarus seeks Accountant

Please note: this is a volunteer position, for occasional seasonal work. We cannot pay travel expenses, but will give you free tickets to all our productions and in some cases to productions with our partner companies.

Job Description:

-To develop financial information management systems within our small arts organisation, to ensure the smooth running of our day-to-day operations.
-To prepare and audit our accounts at the end of every year.
-To liaise with bank managers and other financial personnel in order to streamline our financial operations.
- To keep our staff informed about all finance-related matters.

Person Specification:

-A qualified Chartered Accountant
-Proven interest in the arts sector and experience working within the charitable or non-profit sector
-Excellent written and oral communication skills
